SBI Apprentice Syllabus State Bank of India has Recently Announced and Invited the Online Applications from the Eligible Candidates for the Posts of Apprentice. About Exam :

State Bank of India will conduct the Written Exam for the Posts of Apprentice in August, 2021.

Selection Process :

Selection for engagement of apprentices would be based on the basis of (i) online written test and (ii) test of local language.

Online written test :

Exam Pattern :

The structure of online written examination (online objective type) would be as follows.

  • Exam will be of Objective Type.
  • Questions will be in the form of MCQs.
  • Total Number of Questions will be 100 questions.
  • Maximum Marks for this exam will be 100 Marks.
  • Every question will be of 1 mark each.
  • Time allocated for this exam will be of 1 hour.
  • There will be a Negative Marking of 0.25 marks.

Each test will have a separate timing as mentioned above.

  • The questions will be bilingual i.e., English & Hindi, except for the test of General English.
  • There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests. 1/4th of mark assigned for question will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Minimum Qualifying Marks :

Candidates are required to score a minimum percentage marks on aggregate (For SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD candidates, 5% relaxation available thereon). Minimum qualifying marks on aggregate will be as decided by the Bank. There are no minimum qualifying marks for individual subject. Merit list will be drawn State wise and category wise. Candidates qualified in the test will be placed according to their aggregate marks in descending order in respective States and Categories. In case more than one candidate scores same marks as cut-off marks in the merit list (common marks at cut off point) such candidate will be ranked in the merit list according to their age in descending order in respective States and categories

General/ Financial Awareness : Questions will be asked from Indian Current Events, Banking, General Science, General Knowledge. Focus will be mainly on Current affairs of National & International news, Important dates, Current Science, Technology, Sports & Culture & Banking Sector. Questions from Marketing will also be in ample amounts to Test Your Knowledge.

English Language : Verb, preposition, adverb, subject verb agreement, Error Correction/ recognition, tenses, sentences rearrangement, fill in the blanks with articles etc., comprehension, answering questions based on unseen passage, vocabulary, synonyms and antonyms usage, vocabulary & grammar, Proficiency in the language.

Test of Reasoning : Questions will be asked from analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetic reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning.

Computer Awareness : Basic of Computers, Computer Organization, Generations of computer, Input & Output Device, Shortcuts & Basic knowledge MS word, MS Excel, MS power point, Memory Orientation, Internet, LAN, WAN, Modem, Computer Abbreviations, Modern day Technology. Remember short cut Tricks of MS Word, MS Excel & Computer Abbreviations.

Quantitative Aptitude : Questions will be asked from Simplification, Number Series, Quadratic Equations Average, Percentage, Time & Work, Area, profit & Loss, Simple & Compound Interest, Time & Speed, Investment, HCF LCM, Problem On Ages, Bar Graph, Pictorial Graph, Pie Chart.

Test of Local Language :

  • The specified local languages of the states are as mentioned in Para A of the advertisement.
  • The candidates applying for vacancies of a particular state, should be proficient (reading, writing, speaking and understanding) of the specified local language of that State as mentioned in Para A of the advertisement.
  • The test for knowledge of specified opted local language will be conducted as a part of selection process.
  • It will be conducted after qualifying the online written examination. Candidates who fail to qualify this test will not be engaged for apprentice.
  • Candidates who produce 10th or 12th standard mark sheet/ Certificate evidencing having studied the specified opted local language will not be required to undergo the language test.
  • Candidates will have to appear for the test of specified opted local language at a centre (to be decided by the Bank) of the State applied for, at his/her own expenses.

Medical Examination :

Engagement of selected apprentices is subject to his/her being declared medically fit as per the requirement of the Bank.
