Eligibility Criteria for PGT, TGT and PRT Job
Educational Qualification: railway teacher recruitment 2020
- Post Graduate Teacher (PGT): Graduation/Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and B.Ed./Diploma in Elementary Education/JBT/PTT or Pass in Teacher Eligibility Test (TET)
- Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT): Graduation/B.Ed. or Pass in Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) or B.P.E.D. from a recognized university and Higher Secondary.
- Primary Teacher: Post Graduation in relevant subject and B.Ed.
1. Primary Teachers:
- Candidates should be completed Graduation / Senior Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and B.Ed. / Diploma in Elementary Education / JBT / PTT (by whatever name known)
- Candidates should be passed in the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), to be conducted by the appropriate Government in accordance with Guidelines framed by the NCTE for the purpose.
2. Trained Graduate Teacher:
- Candidates should be completed Graduation (in the teaching subject) and B.Ed. (AND)
- Candidates should be passed in the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), to be conducted by the appropriate Government in accordance with Guidelines framed by the NCTE for the purpose (AND)
- Competence to teach through the medium/media as required. At least he/she should have a language paper in Secondary Level.
3. Primary Teacher (Eng. Medium):
Candidates should be completed Post Graduate in relevant subject & B.Ed.

Traffic Apprentice, Commercial Apprentice, ASM, Goods Guard, Loco Polit, Nurse, Pharmacist, etc., are the posts that fall under Group B.
Group C: If you have a graduation or diploma or 12th degree, then you can apply for the railway group-c exam. Same as Group B, Traffic Apprentice, Commercial Apprentice, ASM, Goods Guard, Loco Polit, Nurse, Pharmacist, etc., are the posts that fall under Group C. 30 to 33 years is the age limit for RRB Group-C exam.
Group D: If you have a minimum qualification of 10th or 12th you apply for the Railway Group D posts. Hospital assistant, Trackman, Pointsman, Assistant works, etc are the posts that come under the Railway Group D exam.
