About NRA CET :NRA Common Eligibility Test

NRA Common Eligibility Test; The Union Cabinet approved the creation of the National Recruitment Agency (NRA) for conducting a Common Eligibility Test (CET) for the purpose of recruiting for the Central Government jobs.
It is a test which will now replace the Preliminary Exams of the various agencies like SSC, RRB, IBPS and in the place of their preliminary exams, the candidate can apply for their Mains examination on the basis of the marks scored in the Common Eligibility Test (CET), and the score will be valid up to the period of three years.
This exam will be held twice a year differently for the candidates who are graduates, for those who just 12th passed and for those who are just 10th passed, for the recruitment process.

Eligibility for NRA Common Eligibility Test (CET):-

NRA Common Eligibility Test; National Recruitment Agency is an association which is conducting an exam namely Common Eligibility Test (CET) for the Preliminary Examination for various departments like Railway Recuitment Board (RRB), Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS), Staff Selection Commission (SSC).
As we know that NRA will conduct an exam for various agencies, for which the required qualifications are different. So, the National Recruitment Agency (NRA) will conduct an separate exam for the following qualifications according to the posts:-

  • 10th or High School level
  • 12th or Intermediate level
  • Graduate level

What Will Happen After NRA Common Eligibility Test (CET)?

NRA Common Eligibility Test; After the declaration of result for NRA: Common Eligibility Test (CET), the candidates can apply for the Mains examination ( Tier- II and Tier-III) of various departments like Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS), Staff Selection Commission (SSC) and can get selected by these agencies.

Note:-

  • Only the Preliminary Examination (Tier-I) for Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS), Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will be conducted by NRA.
  • It is to be noted that the further examinations (Tier-I and Tier-II) of RRB, IBPS, SSC will be conducted by these agencies themselves.
  • There is no role of National Recruitment Agency (NRA) in the conduction of any other exams of these agencies other than Preliminary Examination (Tier-I).

Benefits of Common Eligibility Test (CET):-

  • It will lead to the ease of selection process, job placements, and ease of living as a result it will help our economy too.
  • Before this exam, the Candidates/ Students/ Job seekers have to travel the long distances for the exam centers sometimes in the different states.
  • But now the National Recruitment Agency (NRA) has decided that it will set up 1000 exam centers across the country for conduction of this Common Eligibility Test (CET), by which the candidates will be able to take exams in their home towns/districsts.
  • It is decided that there will be at least one exam center in each district so no candidate will now have to travel long distances, they can give exams in their own district now, so there is no need to go out of town or district.
  • So, it will save money and time both which the candidates used to spend while traveling from one place to another for their exams.
  • This is also stated that in the long run, CET score could be share with other recruiting agencies in the Central Government, State Governments/ Union Territories, Public Sector Undertakings and Private Sector.

Why There Is A Need For This Common Eligibility Test (CET) By NRA?

  • As we know that presesntly, what happens that there are multiple organizations who conduct various exams for the similar level post due to which there is a lot of pressure on the candidates and the young persons who are preparing for these exams.
  • Because RRB, IBPS, SSC conducts the exam on different dates and the Syllabus for almost all of the exams conducted by these agencies are same for their Preliminary examination.
  • So, now what will happen that National Recruitment Agency will conduct a Common Eligibility Test (CET) on behalf of the various agencies like RRB, IBPS, SSC, and the marks obtained in this test will be valid up to 3 years.
  • And the candidates will give their exams on the basis of these CET marks for the Mains and further stages of RRB, IBPS, SSC.

Departments Which Will Come Under National Recruitment Agency (NRA):-

  • Staff Selection Commission (SSC)
  • Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS)
  • Railway Recruitment Board (RRB)

What Jobs Will NRA Includes:-

  • RRB Group D Recruitment
  • RRB NTPC Recruitment Examination
  • IBPS PO & IBPS Clerk.
  • SSC CGL Examination, CHSL Examination, MTS Examination, and JHT Examination.

Key Points for NRA CET:

  • NRA will conduct the Preliminary examination or (Tier-I) for RRB, IBPS, SSC.
  • This Exam will be held twice in a year and;
  • National Recruitment Agency (NRA) will conduct an separate exam for 10th, 12th and Graduate levels.
