Interestingly, DRDO has launched the “DRDO Scholarship Scheme for Girls“ through Aeronautics Research and Development Board. Applicants must have a valid GATE score to apply for the present DRDO Scholarship Scheme for Girls 2020. The number of scholarships is limited to 20 for Under Graduate and 10 for Post Graduate students pursuing their respective degrees at the academic institutes. This scholarship scheme would attract such women power from various institutes through a transparent process with an objective to tap the talent of bright students across the country.

Eligibility Criteria for DRDO Notification 2020

Candidate must be an Indian National to apply for the DRDO Scholarship Scheme for Girls.

Qualification required for the 1st year UG (B.E./B.Tech./BSc. Engg.) scholarship

• Candidate should have got admission in the 1st year of the current academic year (2020-21) to the relevant B.E./ B. Tech./B.Sc Engg. course and Candidate should have cleared with valid JEE (Main) score.

Qualification required for the 1st year PG (M.E./M.Tech./M.Sc. Engg.) scholarship

• Candidate should have secured admission in the 1st year of the current academic year (2020-21) to the relevant ME/M.TECH / M.Sc Engg course.
• Candidate must have scored a minimum of 60% marks in the qualifying exam (graduation level: BE/B Tech/B  Engg. or equivalent) for getting admission to the subject course as per the guidelines set by AICTE/MHRD. Also, the Candidate should have cleared with a valid JEE (Main) score.

DRDO Scientist B – Selection Process

• First-year UG (B.E./B.Tech./BSc. Engg.) scholarship (for 4-yr full-time course) will be based on the merit of JEE (Main). Candidates without valid JEE (Main) score will not be considered.
• First-year PG (M.E./M.Tech./M.Sc. Engg.) scholarship (for 2 yr full-time course) will be based on the valid GATE score on merit basis. The candidates without a valid GATE score will not be considered.

DRDO Amount of Scholarship

• First-year UG (B.E./B.Tech./BSc. Engg.) scholarship – Rs.120000 / year or annual fees whichever is less for a maximum period of four years.
• First-year PG (M.E./M.Tech./M.Sc. Engg.) scholarship – Rs.15500/- per month subject to Rs.186000/- per year for a maximum period of two years

DRDO Salary Info

• The selected candidates will get the salary as Level-10 (7th CPC) of the Pay Matrix (Rs. 56,100/-) in specified disciplines and categories. Total emoluments (inclusive of HRA and all other allowances) at the time of joining will be approximately Rs. 80,000/- p.m. at the present metro city rate.
